LESSONS

Lessons will be held weekly. A "lesson" may be a regular private lesson, a group lesson, or a recital. There are usually 4 lessons in a monthly period; sometimes 3 and sometimes 5, but it rounds out over the course of the year to approximately 44 lessons.

Group lessons will be held usually once a month; typically the third week of the month. These group lessons are one hour in length and consist of group playing/singing, music theory games and learning, and music history lessons. In the weeks I hold a group lesson, no regular private lessons will be held.

Private lessons are 30 minutes in length. Parents are more than welcome to come to lessons and observe! However, please remember that you are the teacher at home and that the teacher is the teacher at lessons. Keep in mind also that it can be hard for the student if their siblings are there to distract as well.

Violinists; I teach the Suzuki method.

I do not give credit for missed lessons. If your child cannot make their scheduled lesson time, you have the option of changing lesson times with another student or ask if I have an opening on another day. If you plan to miss or swap lessons, please call, text, or email me 24 hours in advance if possible.  If time allows, I'm happy to accommodate in the event of an illness or emergency situation. Forgotten lessons will not be made up.  In the rare case that I am unable to teach a lesson, I will assume responsibility and offer a make-up lesson. If your child is sick on their lesson day, please do not send them to lessons.
